Day 1
Ulaanbaatar

Our professional JWT team will see you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. After check-in and a short rest, we start our first day roaming excursion around Ulaanbaatar, the nation’s capital starting from Sukhbaatar square. This smooth square is spirit of the capital and famous for its surroundings including Parliament House, National Opera Theatre, Cultural Palace and House of City Council. Lunch at local restaurant. Our next move is Zaisan Hill; the cute small hill provides wide open view of the Ulaanbaatar. From there we visit Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, the palace known as the Green Palace. The palace was built in 1903 dedicated to the 8th Bogd Gegeen, the head of lamaist religion and last khan of Mongolia. Amazing bronze castings, silk paintings, paper icons, mineral paintings, god statues made by Zanabazar and his students is the main attraction of this Palace.

Day 2
Bayangobi

After early morning breakfast, we start driving to Bayangobi. On the way, we visit Mongol nomadic show where we will experience demonstration of nomadic life, felt production, music, singing and etc. After lunch at Mongol nomadic camp, we drive to Khugnu Khan mountain to visit Ovgon monastery. We visit a camel breeding family to experience how the life of typical Mongolian family goes by. Camel riding at the beautiful sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai (Bayangobi desert). Overnight in ger camp.

Day 3
Kharkhorin

After very early morning breakfast at camp, we drive to Kharkhorin; an ancient Capital of Great Mongolian Empire. There we will visit Erdenezuu Monastery – the first Buddhist monastery was founded by Avtai Sain Khaan, descendant of Chinggis Khan, on the ruins of Kharkhorin in 1586. The monastery is surrounded by beautiful looking white walls with 108 stupas. For centuries it was a spiritual and intellectual centre of Mongolia. Lunch at local camp and we drive to Orkhon waterfall. The Orkhon  waterfall is situated in the historically significant Orkhon Valley, whose river flows an incredible 1120km to the North before it joins the mighty Selenge Gol. Also called Ulaan Tsutgalan, the waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20,000 years ago. The fall is naturally most impressive after heavy rain. Drive back to camp at Kharkhorin. We also visit Tuvkhun Monastery. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 4
Ongi monastery

After early morning breakfast, we start driving to Saikhanii Tugul. Arrive at the camp and lunch. After lunch, we visit Ongi monastery and also a horse breeding family. Horse riding with the local. Ongi monastery was built in the XVIII century. The monastery was the main religious centre of South Mongolia. The monks were practiced Buddhist philosophy, astrology and medicine. We visit the story telling ruins of monastery and small local ger museum up there and experience a stunning sunset from the top of a nearby hill. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 5
Khongor sand dunes

After early morning breakfast, drive to Khongor sand dunes. The Khongor Sand Dunes are some of the largest and most impressive white sand dunes in Mongolia. Also known as the Duut Mankhan (singing dunes), Khongor Sand Dunes stretches more than 180 km (112 miles) with majestic heights of 100 – 300 meters. The largest dunes are North West of the range up to 800 meters high. You can climb to the top of the sand dunes and slide down: simultaneously the dune begins to make an amazing sound: similar to singing. From the top of the sand dunes, the view of the desert is awesome. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 6
Flaming cliffs Bayanzag

After early morning breakfast, we drive to Vulture valley for hiking. Lunch at local camp and take off to the flaming cliffs. Through the journey we see arid steppe landscape with many camel herds and herding families. In the afternoon we arrive in the ancient red rock creation, Bayanzag formed 60-70 million years ago, famous as Flaming Cliffs named by Roy Andrew Chapman, an American explorer who visited Mongolia in 1920s. The striking red Bayanzag cliffs have dinosaur fossils, eggs and bones all over the place and neighbored by bushy Saxual tree forests. Dinner at local camp and drive to base camp which is around 50 km away. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 7
Dalanzadgad - Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast at camp, we drive to Dalanzadgad which is around 50 kms away from our camp. Fly to Ulaanbaatar. After check in to hotel, we visit Gandan monastery and National history museum. Late lunch at local restaurant and afternoon at leisure. Shopping. Dinner at “Modern Nomads” restaurant with its traditional Mongolian cuisine. Overnight in hotel.

Day 8
Naadam festival

Today, we enjoy the Naadam Festival. The Naadam Festival is the largest annual celebration in Mongolia and showcases Mongolia’s finest in the three “manly sports” of horse racing, archery and wrestling. The festival begins with a fantastic, colorful ceremony outside the State Parliament House. Hundreds of soldiers in bright uniforms play music on brass instruments, and Mongolians dressed in Genghis-like warrior outfits parade around the square, before marching to the stadium. Throughout the day there are archery events, where the targets lie on the ground, horse races with as many as 1,000 horses and wrestling bouts in which there are no time limits. Overnight in hotel.

Day 9
Ulaanbaatar - Horse racing

Enjoy more of the festival and the Mongolian spectators who come from far and wide to watch the competitions. See how the wrestlers and archers have progressed. Tonight we enjoy the closing ceremony and a celebration dinner.  Overnight in hotel.
